The actor was transported to a hospital in Los Angeles following a stunt during an afternoon show on Monday, as confirmed by a spokesperson in a statement sent to AFP. The spokesperson noted that details surrounding the event are currently being reviewed. According to the entertainment news outlet TMZ, a male actor dived from a 30-foot platform into a water tank but did not resurface immediately. In a state of panic, his colleagues pulled him from the water and performed CPR before he was rushed to the hospital, where he is still receiving treatment.

Daisy Anguiano, a spectator at the show, recounted the incident to a local ABC affiliate, stating, “It was a full house. It happened in front of everyone.” She described the actor as appearing unconscious while being “dragged from the water.”

“WaterWorld” is a live show filled with special effects, based on the 1995 post-apocalyptic action film starring Kevin Costner. Despite the film being considered an expensive flop, “WaterWorld: A Live Sea War Spectacular” opened at the Los Angeles theme park the same year and has since become an enduringly popular attraction. The show lasts around 15 minutes and is performed several times each day, featuring performers who interact with fans, execute daring stunts on jet skis and high wires, and trigger explosions using movie-set technology. According to the theme park’s website, approximately 170,000 pyrotechnic effects are fired each year at WaterWorld, including giant fireballs that rise 50 feet (15 meters) into the air.
