Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State on Tuesday introduced the 2024 appropriation of over 200 and ninety-five billion naira to the State House of Assembly.
He stated 53.33 p.c of the price range represents the recurrent expenditure whereas 46.66 p.c is for capital expenditure.
Mutfwang whereas presenting the price range tagged: “The Budget of New Beginnings”, stated, ” This price range has a complete of 200 and ninety-five billion, 4 hundred and thirty-four million, 5 hundred and sixty-eight thousand, 4 hundred and sixty-four naira solely (N295,434,568,464.00).
“This amount consists of a recurrent component of N157,563,316,462.00, representing 53.33% of the total budget size and capital estimate of N137,871,251,992.00, representing 46.66% of the total budget estimate.
“The total budget size shows an increase of N145,483,233,873.00, over the 2023 approved budget”, he defined.
“The budget is aimed at laying a solid foundation for the Peace and Prosperity of Plateau State.
“The vision and mission of the present administration is to intervene in the area of security, agriculture, human capital development, public health,
industrialization and aggressive revenue generation”, the Governor additional defined.
“I sincerely hope that the budget will be given expedited attention.
“While appealing to Mr Speaker and Honourable Members to peruse and deliberate on the budget, I look forward to your mutual understanding and cooperation in the speedy passage of the budget to enable us commence implementation in good time”, he admonished.
Responding, the Speaker of the House, Moses Sule, assured that the House would do its job diligently and make sure that the price range is handed in good time.
