CAC Raises Alarm Over False ‘Free Business Name Registration’ Messages on Social Media

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a stern warning to the public, urging Nigerians to disregard the trending social media messages offering free registration of business names and companies.

In a statement released on its official handle, the commission emphasized that the circulating message did not originate from them and should be treated as misleading information.

“Please disregard any SMS or WhatsApp message urging you to sign up for free CAC registration, as it is not from us! Thank you,” CAC emphasized in their social media post.

Furthermore, the Registrar General of the commission, Hussaini Magaji, during his visit to the CAC Lagos office, pledged to eliminate obstacles that hinder staff performance. This visit forms part of his ongoing interactive sessions with the staff.

Magaji stressed the significance of the visit, stating that it provides him with a direct insight into the challenges and experiences encountered by the staff in the course of their duties. He also committed to promptly providing solutions wherever feasible.
