Zimbabwean Players at Odds with FA over Reduced Winning Bonus for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Zimbabwean players have expressed dissatisfaction over the reduction of their match-winning bonus for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria to $500.

According to reports from Zimpapers, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has slashed the bonus by half from its initial $1000, citing financial challenges.

One senior player revealed, “The committee is telling us that they have no money to give us, that’s why they have decided to slash. But we feel it’s not fair on us as players because we expect them to do better than the previous leaders.”

This disagreement resonates with past disputes between the players and ZIFA over bonus-related matters.
