Bayelsa Election: Timipre Sylva’s Ward Sees Commencement of Voting After 3-Hour Delay

Voting has finally begun in the ongoing governorship election after a significant three-hour delay in Okpoama Ward, located in the Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

Okpoama Ward’s Polling Unit-4 consists of 17 polling centres and represents the electoral ward of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Timipre Sylva.

The delay in the sorting and distribution of electoral materials to the 17 polling centres caused the commencement of accreditation and voting across the ward to start at approximately 11 am.

Despite the initial setback, the residents have patiently queued up to cast their votes for their preferred governorship candidate.

Additionally, the area remains peaceful as security personnel, party agents, and INEC officials continue to carry out their responsibilities.

Nathan Sobote, a community leader who cast his vote at polling centre 6, Okpo playground, expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in the arrival of voting materials. However, he commended the tranquil atmosphere in the area.
