INEC Investigates Forged Election Result in Kogi State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched an investigation into the pre-recorded results sheet discovered in multiple polling units across Kogi State.

YIAGA Africa, a civil society organisation, expressed concerns about the allocation of scores to political parties before the conclusion of voting, prompting further scrutiny by the electoral commission.

Some of the results observed indicate that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Usman Ododo, allegedly received the highest scores.

In a brief statement on its official platform, INEC stated that senior officials deployed to the state have been tasked with probing these incidents.

The statement released by INEC reads, “Our attention has been drawn to a report that filled result sheets were discovered in some polling units in Kogi State.

“The Commission views this situation seriously.

“Our senior officials deployed to the state are currently investigating the incidents. The Commission will communicate its decision earnestly.”
