The recent decision by the Court of Appeal affirming the sack of Governor Kabir Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has been commended by Hon Garba Datti Muhammad, the National Vice Chairman, North West, of the All Progressives Congress, APC. In his reaction, he highlighted that the judgement serves as vindication for Umar Ganduje, the current APC chairman and former governor of Kano State.
Expressing his satisfaction with the verdict, Muhammad released a statement shortly after the Appeal Court ruling, emphasizing that the decision reflects the will of the people and the acceptance of the APC in the North West.
“I hail the appellate court’s decision, which has manifested Allah’s divine providence for Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna to be confirmed as the duly elected governor of Kano state,
“By upholding the tribunal’s verdict and setting aside the issues brought by the appellant, the ruling marks the culmination of a long and arduous legal battle that had gripped the state for months,
“It must be emphasized that this judgement is a triumph for the wish of the good people of Kano state, which validates their mandate to Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and his deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, and a relief from the vindictive and malicious destruction of the Ganduje legacies by the ousted NNPP government,
“Finally, I applaud the judiciary for their unwavering commitment to always remain on the side of justice,” the statement reads.
In a related development, the Appeal Court has declared Nasir Ganuwa of the APC as the winner of the March 18 gubernatorial poll in Kano State, following the sacking of the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, as reported by Media Talk Africa.
