In a recent interview with journalists in Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the chairman of the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed profound joy over the triumph of his party at the Appeal Court, emphasizing that this victory resonates deeply with the populace of Kano State.
Speaking candidly, Abbas exuded confidence in the righteousness of their cause, asserting that the victory reflects the resounding mandate initially bestowed upon the APC.
Elated by the verdict, Abbas resonated with empathy as he extended reassurance to the victims of the demolition by the NNPP administration at the Eid ground, Salanta, and other affected areas, declaring, “This triumph is yours, a testament to your endurance. The time for deliverance has come. We reassure the people of Kano that their responsible government is reinstated, and we are here for the betterment of all; they need not harbour any apprehensions.”
Urging supporters to revel in the victory with dignity and decorum, Abbas underlined their unwavering conviction in securing triumph even at the Supreme Court, anchored on compelling evidence and the proceedings in court.
Reaffirming their commitment to rectifying the missteps and oppressive tendencies experienced under the previous administration, Abbas aimed to allay concerns and foster optimism, assuring, “Normalcy will be restored, ushering in a reinvigoration of businesses within our cherished Kano community.”
Abbas earnestly addressed the plight of Kano as a pivotal commercial hub in northern Nigeria, lamenting its relegation during the NNPP’s tenure. He exclaimed, “We are poised to redress the grievances of the victims whose toil and livelihoods were unjustly obliterated, promising restitutive actions in earnest.”
