Bayelsa, with 2,651 applications, and Abia with 2,796, claimed the 4th and 5th positions, respectively, as the states with the lowest number of applicants.

Remarkably, the police recruitment portal has received a staggering total of 547,774 applications so far, with the application window set to close on November 26.

Mr. Ani highlighted that the portal, which opened on October 15, will be closed after six weeks, marking the deadline for application submissions. Out of the 547,774 applicants, an impressive 358,900 have successfully qualified for the subsequent phase of the recruitment process.

He expounded on the rigorous processes involved, including physical assessments, credential verifications, medical evaluations, and stringent background checks, stressing that 84,606 applicants were disqualified for exceeding the age limit.

Expressing his contentment, the Chairman of PSC, Solomon Arase, commended the substantial number of applications received. Mr. Arase emphasized that the remarkable surge in applications is a clear indication of the Nigerian youths’ unprecedented interest in pursuing a career in the Nigeria Police.
