Nasarawa Governorship Appeal: PDP Allege Frustration in Supreme Court Appeal

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised an allegation, claiming that the Court of Appeal is impeding their efforts to contest the judgment on the Nasarawa State governorship election at the Supreme Court.

Speaking on AIT’s Kaakaki Programme, Enokela Orogu, the chairman of PDP in Nasarawa State, expressed the party’s discontent with the situation, as monitored by Media Talk Africa on Saturday.

Orogu accused the Court of Appeal of blocking access to the judgment copy, which is crucial for their appeal preparations.

He asserted that despite the judgment being pronounced, the court withheld the document, potentially risking the appeal’s deadline.

Questioning the court’s transparency, the PDP chairman highlighted the unusual reading of the judgment from a basic piece of paper.

“We approached the Appeal Court for the copy of the judgment to prepare ourselves for appeal in the Supreme Court, but they denied us up to this moment, telling us it was not ready; we should come back on Monday.

“If it was not ready, why did they come to present the judgment?” Orogu queried.

“The judgment, which I rather call a joker, was even read on an ordinary piece of paper. This is a deliberate attempt to hinder us from meeting the appeal deadline.

“You can’t hide the truth,” Orogu voiced.
