APC Urges Public to Hold SDP Accountable for INEC Office Security in Kogi

The Governorship Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has urged the public to hold the Social Democratic Party (SDP) responsible for the security of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Lokoja.

In a statement issued in Lokoja on Sunday night, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the APC campaign council’s Director of Media and Publicity/Spokesperson, called upon security agencies to enhance security measures around INEC offices.

Meanwhile, the SDP, through its Director General of New Media, MuriSam Campaign Council, Mr. Isaiah Ijele, alleged that there were plans to set fire to the INEC office. Ijele claimed, “It has come to our notice through reliable sources that there is an urgent need for enhanced security around the Kogi INEC office to prevent the nefarious plot to set the office on fire by unknown perpetrators.”

Responding to the SDP’s statement, the APC campaign council asserted that the SDP’s unfounded alert of an alleged impending attack on the INEC office was a ploy to conceal the party’s malicious intention of inciting the torching of the INEC office and laying the blame on the APC.
