NAFOWA Appeals to Nigerians to Support Wounded Soldiers

The Nigerian Air Force Officers Wives Association (NAFOWA), along with the Airmen Wives Association (AWA) 105 Air Force Composite Group, has called on Nigerians to demonstrate compassion and support for soldiers wounded in the fight against insurgency.

During a visit to the 7 Division Nigeria Army Hospital in Maiduguri on Wednesday, NAFOWA President, Arc Rukyat Abubakar, represented by Borno State Coordinator, Mrs Esther Olayera, led a delegation of association members to meet with the injured soldiers.

Emphasizing the soldiers’ immense contribution in combatting criminal activities and their significant sacrifices to safeguard Nigeria’s sovereignty, she highlighted the need for increased love and support from benevolent and collaborative organizations.

“Our aim is to visit and offer prayers for your speedy recovery, with hopes that you will soon return to your respective units. We stand in solidarity with you, and trust that our small gestures will bring joy to you.

“We acknowledge and appreciate your sacrifices in protecting the state, regions, and the nation as a whole.

“It is crucial for us to show love to our soldiers, and the joy evident on their faces when we engaged with them speaks volumes. Such gestures will undoubtedly expedite their healing process and aid their psychological well-being,” she remarked.

The delegation was warmly received by Commander Medical Services 7 Division of NA, Lt Col. AA. Ogunsakin, who expressed gratitude to the NAFOWA leadership for their thoughtful initiative.

“This is a praiseworthy initiative and a strong indication that we are not alone. It demonstrates that people remember the wounded soldiers and value their sacrifices for the nation,” Ogunsakin stated.
