In a recent interview with Christian Vieri on Twitch, Lionel Scaloni, the head coach of Argentina, has expressed his desire for Lionel Messi to continue playing for “as long as he can.”
As Messi, now 36, embarks on his second season with MLS outfit Inter Miami CF, the question of his retirement looms. Scaloni, however, believes that Messi’s undeniable talent and passion for the game should keep him on the pitch.
“We tell him [Messi] to play for as long as he can. He has proved that he doesn’t have an end. You don’t know when he will give [it] up. It’s incredible,” Scaloni remarked, emphasizing Messi’s enduring skill and determination.
Notably, Messi achieved a career milestone by winning the World Cup under Scaloni’s guidance, solidifying his status as one of football’s greatest icons. With this victory, Messi has now claimed every major title in his illustrious career.
