Ogun State Governor Mourns Director Slain by Robbers in Abeokuta

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the Director of Finance at the Governor’s office, Taiwo Oyekanmi, who tragically lost his life at the hands of a brazen gang of robbers in Abeokuta, the capital of the state.

In a press release issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Lekan Adeniran, Governor Abiodun conveyed his deep sorrow over the untimely demise of the respected civil servant.

Reports reveal that the late accountant met his tragic end while transporting a substantial sum of money in a bullion van from two commercial banks to the governor’s office.

Governor Abiodun described the incident as a profound shock, urging for prayers and support for the bereaved family during this difficult time.

“The loss of such a dedicated, honest, and diligent official is a devastating blow to our administration. The perpetrators have shattered the peace, and they will be swiftly apprehended from their hideouts,” he remarked.

Furthermore, the governor pledged to investigate the matter thoroughly, stating, “I have instructed all security agencies in the State to promptly apprehend the criminals and ensure they face the full weight of the law.”
