Empowering Football: NFF Unveils $1.19M Mini-Stadium to Boost Grassroots Development in Kebbi

In a bid to bolster grassroots football development in Kebbi State, the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) have jointly inaugurated a $1.19 million mini-stadium.

The ambitious project, situated on Kalgo Road in Birnin Kebbi, was unveiled in a ceremony graced by the former governor of the state, Atiku Bagudu, and NFF officials. Representing the state, Governor Nasir Idris emphasized the importance of engaging the youth in constructive activities to promote their well-being.

Governor Idris expressed his administration’s contemplation of reviving the Annual Sports Festival and reiterated the state’s commitment to supporting local clubs and associations for their advancement in sports.

During the inauguration, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena, the Head of Service (HoS), stood in for Governor Idris and conveyed gratitude to the General Secretary of NFF, Sanusi Muhammad, for his role in securing the project’s location. Additionally, he acknowledged the collaborative efforts of NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau, and the Chairman of the state Football Association, Abubakar Chika-Ladan.

Furthermore, Governor Idris appealed to the state football association and NFF to designate Kebbi State as a center for the National Football League. This strategic move aims to foster the development of football talents within the state. The governor also affirmed his administration’s unwavering readiness to provide support and collaboration for the growth of football and other sporting endeavors in the state.

The commissioning of this mini-stadium stands as a testament to NFF’s dedication to nurturing local talent and creating infrastructural support for sports development. This progressive initiative aligns with the broader mission to harness the untapped potential of budding football enthusiasts and cultivate a thriving sporting culture in Kebbi State.
