Yuletide Osun CP directs commanders to beef up security

The Police Commissioner of Osun State, Isyaku Mohammed, is set to bolster security measures ahead of the Yuletide season to ensure the safety of residents and visitors. As part of these efforts, the commissioner has instructed Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers to deploy personnel and operational assets at key public locations, including places of worship, amusement parks, and recreation centers. This directive follows the recent prohibition of fireworks and street carnivals throughout the state during the festive period. The officers have been tasked with rigorously enforcing the operational order for the season and conducting intelligence-led, high-visibility policing across highways and state territories. In a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, Commissioner Mohammed emphasized the importance of public cooperation with the deployed security personnel to ensure the protection of lives and property. He urged citizens to conduct their activities lawfully, observe vigilance, and provide the Police with relevant information to help maintain a peaceful atmosphere. The public can report any suspicious activities or individuals by calling the following numbers: 08039537995, 08123823981, 08075872433. These proactive security measures aim to create a secure environment and reassure the public during the Yuletide period. With the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the public, Osun State is poised to celebrate the festive season with peace of mind and unity.
