In the fast-paced world of English Premier League football, Chelsea’s head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has called on Noni Madueke to step up and elevate his game if he wants to secure a prominent role in the team this season.

Madueke, who made a high-profile move from PSV Eindhoven to Stamford Bridge for a hefty sum of £29 million in January, has yet to carve out a significant position under Pochettino’s leadership. Despite making 20 appearances across various competitions for the Blues, the 21-year-old winger has only managed to find the back of the net twice.

Addressing the media ahead of Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League clash with Wolves, Pochettino acknowledged Madueke’s struggles, stating, “I think from the beginning of the season, he was involved, then not involved, injured, and suffered some problem. Noni is in a position where there is massive competition, there is too many players in that area. I think he needs to compete and improve his level.”

The Argentine coach highlighted the fierce competition within the team and emphasized the necessity for Madueke to raise his performance level in order to contend for a consistent spot in the starting lineup. Pochettino further commented, “I think at the moment, he was injured, but now he has recovered, he may be involved in the next games.”

As the football world eagerly watches the developments at Chelsea, the pressure is on for Noni Madueke to heed Pochettino’s call and demonstrate his capability to thrive amidst the heightened competition, positioning himself for a more impactful role in the squad. With the Premier League season heating up, all eyes are on whether the young talent can rise to the challenge and prove his worth on the grand stage of English football.
