Renowned agent Dario Canovi has made a bold prediction, foreseeing the departure of Napoli’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
This revelation comes on the heels of Osimhen’s contract extension with Napoli, which was finalized on Christmas Eve, binding the Nigerian international to the Serie A champions until 2026. Within the terms of this agreement, a release clause ranging from €130m to €140m has been reportedly included.
Amidst Napoli’s challenges to replicate their previous season’s triumphant form, where they clinched the Scudetto after a 33-year drought, Canovi expressed his belief that the 24-year-old forward will bid farewell to the Partenopei at the culmination of the current campaign.
Canovi attributed the club’s struggles to the departures of key figures such as Luciano Spalletti and Cristiano Giuntoli, emphasizing their integral roles in Napoli’s prior success. He notably highlighted the impact of their absence, opining, “Having let both of them leave, the club was practically massacred, they were the cornerstones of Napoli who won. Giuntoli and especially Spalletti.”
Furthermore, Canovi asserted that Osimhen’s contract renewal primarily serves to elevate the player’s market value, solidifying his belief that the young talent will seek new horizons in June.
This development sets the stage for a potential high-stakes transfer saga, with Osimhen’s future hanging in the balance, poised to captivate the footballing world as the summer transfer window beckons.
