The Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team, are all set to spend a week at their training camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in preparation for the upcoming AFCON 2023 tournament. With the team’s itinerary released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), all 25 invited players are expected to convene in Abu Dhabi starting January 2, 2024.
During their one-week camp which concludes on January 9, the team will focus on honing their skills and strategies under the guidance of head coach Jose Peseiro. The final 25-man squad for the competition was unveiled by Peseiro on Friday, December 30, 2023, marking a significant step in the team’s preparations.
Following the conclusion of the camp, the Super Eagles are scheduled to return to Lagos on January 9 before departing for Abidjan, the capital of Ivory Coast, on January 10. Their journey in the AFCON tournament commences with a match against Equatorial Guinea on January 14, as they aim to clinch their fourth AFCON title.
