Bournemouth, a club in the English Premier League, is reportedly considering a late bid for Nigeria international and Fenerbahce winger Bright Osayi-Samuel. Crystal Palace is also showing interest in the former QPR star, according to Sports Extra. The Sun reports that Bournemouth is eyeing a dramatic move for Osayi-Samuel, with Fenerbahce demanding £12 million for the talented player following his impressive performance in Turkey over the past year.
Interest in the Nigerian wing-back has surged in recent days, particularly after Fenerbahce announced that Crystal Palace had made an offer to bring Osayi-Samuel back to London. However, Bournemouth may now make their own move as manager Gary O’Neil seeks to secure another signing in January. Osayi-Samuel has adapted well to life in Istanbul, featuring in 27 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow Canaries this season.
Bournemouth’s transfer team holds a strong admiration for the versatile Nigerian, who could fill multiple roles within the squad. Currently, Osayi-Samuel is sidelined due to an injury he sustained during Fenerbahce’s Ziraat Turkish Cup match against Çaykur Rizespor in the last-16 round. The injury occurred in the 80th minute of the match, which Fenerbahce won 2-1, leading to his substitution by Willian Arao. While Osayi-Samuel has primarily played as a right wing-back for the Turkish giants, he is also capable of playing on either flank or in an attacking position.
