Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, recently made a striking revelation. He disclosed that he had been offered significant incentives to work against the emergence of President Bola Tinubu. However, firmly standing his ground, Wike expressed that despite the lucrative offers, he actively supported Tinubu’s ascent to the presidency.

This revelation unfolded during Wike’s visit to the South-South Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Victor Gaidom, in Gokana, Rivers State, on a Saturday. Wike used this opportunity to assert his unwavering commitment to his decisions and principles, stating, “When I was governor, Nigeria heard about Rivers State. That is what I have always preached. So, nobody should be afraid. I have no regrets when I stood by with my colleagues and friends that the presidency must go to the south.”

Elaborating further on the political landscape, he added, “There was nothing I was not offered. But I said no. That is why I will continue to support the government of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu. As I am going back home, I am going with the satisfaction that my friend is back.”

In his closing remarks, Wike acknowledged the potential backlash his visit might cause, emphasizing the need to follow leaders who have the people’s best interests at heart. He rallied support for Victor Gaidom and other leaders, urging the people to discern and back those who genuinely prioritize the welfare of the citizens.

This bold stand by Nyesom Wike not only sheds light on the intricate and often murky world of politics but also underscores the importance of unwavering integrity in the face of temptations. His resolute stance serves as a compelling example of principled leadership, transcending party lines and resonating with the global audience.
