In a relentless pursuit to rid the Northeast region of terror activities, the Nigerian Air Force’s air and ground components of Operation Hadin Kai have achieved significant milestones. AVM Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, disclosed that their recent operations have yielded remarkable successes.
On January 5, in Parisu, a location near the once terrorist-ridden Sambisa Forest, NAF executed a vital operation. After detecting terrorists transporting suspected weapons and ammunition to the area, the decision to strike was promptly made. The ensuing airstrikes engulfed the vicinity in flames, forcing surviving terrorists to flee. The outcome was the neutralization of 12 terrorists and the destruction of their logistics, thereby hampering their capacity to target civilians and military personnel.
The relentless pursuit continued on January 6, around 1.5 kilometers southwest of Tumbun Agiri in the Lake Chad region. Intelligence had revealed the accumulation of armed terrorists in vehicles and on motorcycles, prompting NAF to unleash precision strikes. The assault resulted in the annihilation of terrorists and the obliteration of their vehicles and motorcycles, dealing a severe blow to their operations.
Furthermore, on January 2, during an air reconnaissance mission, NAF targeted and engaged three canoes loaded with suspected Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at Tumbun Alura, culminating in a massive explosion. Similar successful strikes were also carried out at Tumbun Buwari and Sabon Tumbun, decimating terrorist structures within the Lake Chad region.
The unyielding commitment of NAF to purge the region of terrorist elements and disrupt their activities is evident. These decisive operations signify a resounding victory in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria, heralding a safer and more secure environment for the populace. As NAF continues to demonstrate unwavering resolve, the international community stands witness to the resounding defeat of terrorism in the region.
