Aminu Ibrahim Malle has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the forthcoming bye-election in the Jalingo-Yorro-Zing Federal Constituency of Taraba State, Nigeria. The APC primary, held at Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo over the weekend, saw Malle secure victory with 41 votes, outshining his rivals, including Mohammed Alkali, Abdulmumini Hamza, and Bilyaminu Umar. The bye-election was prompted by the unfortunate passing of Ismaila Maihanci, who had previously secured the seat under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general election. Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Lawan Isma’ila, announced Malle’s win, hailing the transparency of the election process. He urged unsuccessful contenders to unite with the nominee to challenge the PDP in the election slated for February 3rd. State Chairman of the APC, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects for success in the poll. He called on the election umpire to ensure a level playing field for all candidates and parties. APC Publicity Secretary in the State, Aaron Artimas, commended the delegates for their dignified conduct during the primary. Artimas stressed that the electoral process was overseen by the Electoral Committee appointed by the National Secretariat, with the party providing a conducive environment free from interference. An APC stalwart, Alhaji Tukur Sambo Sintali, and party member Silas Gani lauded the State Chairman, El-Sudi, for reinvigorating the party in Taraba State.
