The APC’s Stance on the Kogi Gubernatorial Election: A Pledge for Discipline and Reward

The Kogi State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has taken a firm stand to penalize members found guilty of undermining the party’s interests in the November 11, 2023, governorship election while promising rewards for loyal supporters.

During the submission of the Election Review Committee’s report, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, the party’s chairman, emphasized the party’s commitment to recompense faithful members who made sacrifices for the party’s success.

The chairman expressed his appreciation for the committee’s diligent efforts and assured the members that their recommendations would be implemented. Furthermore, he pledged to recognize and reward the dedication of essential stakeholders, leaders, and party members, affirming that their contributions would not go unnoticed.

Bashir Abubakar Gegu, the co-chairman of the committee, highlighted the comprehensive engagement with stakeholders and members to gather pertinent information. He urged the party to address logistical, security, and financial needs for future elections, emphasizing the necessity for seamless processes.

The committee’s recommendations advocated for both disciplinary actions against erring members and incentives for those who vigorously worked for the party’s triumph.

The establishment of the review committee was prompted by allegations of certain APC members collaborating with the opposition in the previous election. The committee, chaired by the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Umar Aliyu Yusuf, and supervised by Dr. Usman Ogbo Salisu, aimed to address these concerns and provide essential insights for future strategies.
