President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the green light to the formation of a fresh board and management team for the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC). This move was announced by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Wednesday in Abuja, emphasizing that the appointments await confirmation by the Senate.

For NAHCON, the newly appointed board and management team includes Mr. Jalal Arab as the Chairman and Aliu Abdulrazaq as the Commissioner for Policy, Personnel, and Finance. Additionally, Prince Anofi Elegush assumes the role of the Commissioner for Operations, and Prof. Abubakar A. Yagawal takes charge as the Commissioner for Planning and Research.

Moreover, the eight new NAHCON zonal representatives comprise Dr. Muhammad Umaru Ndagi for the North Central region, Abba Jato Kala for the North East, and Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman for the North West. The remaining representatives are Tajudeen Oladejo Abefe for the South West, Aishat Obi Ahmed for the South East, Zainab Musa for the South South, Prof. Musa Inuwa Fodio representing Jama’atul Nasril Islam, and Prof. Adedimeji Mahfouz Adebola representing the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

Likewise, the President has also sanctioned the appointment of nine board members for the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, with Col. Aloche Adole assuming the position of Chairman and Dr. Stephen Adegbite as Secretary. The other members include Omowumi Olubunmi Ogunlola representing the South West, Clement Alobu Nweke representing the South East, and Chief Prince Weli Wosu representing the South South. The list continues with Prof. Joseph Haruna Mamman for the North West, Dr. Toma Hamidu Ragnjiya for the North East, Dr. Simon Abu Samson Dolly for the North Central, and Bishop Raphael Benjamin Nwankwo representing the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

In concluding the announcement, the President urged the newly appointed individuals to see their appointments as an opportunity to serve the nation and to wholeheartedly commit themselves to this vital purpose.
