The All Progressive Congress (APC) has officially kicked off its campaign council for the upcoming rerun election in the Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency of Jigawa State. The inauguration took place at the state APC secretariat in Dutse, presided over by Governor Malam Umar Namadi.

The election in the Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency was declared inconclusive by the National Assembly Election Tribunal on February 25, 2023. This decision was subsequently upheld by the Court of Appeal, paving the way for a rerun. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has slated the rerun polls for the second week of February 2024.

The APC’s move to set up a campaign council indicates the party’s determination to secure victory in the forthcoming rerun election. With the political landscape in Jigawa State heating up, the formation of the campaign council underscores the significance of this election for the APC.

As election fervor grips the state, all eyes are on the APC’s campaign council to see how they will navigate the intricacies of the rerun election and mobilize support for their candidate. This development heralds a new chapter in the political narrative of Jigawa State and will undoubtedly be closely followed by political observers and the electorate alike.
