Enyimba coach George Finidi is expressing confidence ahead of their away match against Ikenne-based Remo Stars in the week five fixture of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League season. The two-time African champions recently secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Kwara United in Aba, thanks to a brilliant brace from Chukwuemeka Obioma and a debut goal from Ademola Adebambo, who sealed the win. Finidi, who also serves as an assistant manager for the Super Eagles, has assured fans in Aba that the Elephants will leave no stone unturned and will strive to maintain their impressive performance.

Analyzing the statistics, it appears to be a reasonable expectation for the Aba team, who have won four of their last six NPFL encounters with Remo Stars. Following Enyimba’s victory on Sunday, Finidi expressed his satisfaction with the players’ performance. “We are all happy for the victory. It was an outstanding game for the players. I think they did so well,” he stated. He further emphasized the team’s potential, saying, “We, as the coaching staff, know this team is good; it’s just for them to come to the party. We will not relent. We know we have a task ahead of us against Remo. We will all see how we can go there and get a good result.”

Enyimba aims to secure a third win against a Remo side that recently experienced a 3-0 defeat to a dominant Bendel Insurance, marking their first loss of the 2023 campaign. Currently, Enyimba sits third in Group A standings with two wins, one draw, and one defeat, trailing Remo by two points. Remo has had an impressive run, winning three of their four matches, while Bendel Insurance leads Group A with 12 points, having won all four of their matches.

In response to his team’s defeat to Bendel Insurance in Benin City, Remo coach Daniel Ogunmodede expressed confidence in their ability to bounce back. “Today things didn’t go the way I wanted them to go; tomorrow, things will be the way I want them,” Ogunmodede stated, indicating his determination to return to winning ways.
