Nigeria forward Tolu Arokodare has officially joined KRC Genk, a club in the Belgian Pro League. Arokodare made the move from Amiens SC, a team in France’s Ligue 2, on Tuesday night. The agreement is for four and a half seasons. He takes over the position previously held by fellow Nigerian Paul Onuachu, who transferred to Premier League club Southampton in a last-minute deal worth £18 million.

Following the announcement of his transfer, Arokodare shared his excitement on Instagram, posting photos from the occasion. He expressed his happiness about joining Genk, stating, “I am very happy to be in Genk. At this point in my career, I can’t imagine a better club. Together with the team, I hope to continue the good results of the first half of the season and to win prizes. Paul leaves big shoes to fill, but I am determined to give 100% for this great club.”

Genk’s sporting director, Dimitri Conde, elaborated on the club’s decision to sign Arokodare. He highlighted the player’s agility, speed in the initial meters, and aerial strength, despite his height. Conde noted, “Tolu is already showing flashes of his class today. In addition, there is also a lot of potential for growth. Under the guidance of our technical staff, he will be able to make significant progress in the coming years. We have proven with several other young talents that KRC Genk is the ideal environment for this.”
