Ebele Nwuzor, the Labour Party Chairman in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, has reaffirmed that George Adegeye is the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives in the Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency. This declaration was made in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos, where Nwuzor emphasized that a recent court ruling confirmed Adegeye’s position as the candidate who will lead the party to victory.

In her statement, Nwuzor expressed the necessity of informing the public, particularly the electorate in the Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency, about what she described as a malicious attempt by certain individuals within the Labour Party to mislead the public regarding the party’s authentic candidate for the upcoming election. She referenced the Court of Appeal judgment delivered on November 18, 2022, which had already established George Adegeye as the legitimate candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections.

Nwuzor also voiced her surprise at the emergence of campaign posters for a self-proclaimed candidate, Ejike Metu, who had previously contested for the Federal House of Representatives ticket with the Peoples Democratic Party before joining the Labour Party. While she acknowledged and appreciated Metu’s decision to join the Labour Party, she firmly stated that the party would not tolerate any actions that could create division for selfish purposes.

Additionally, the Labour Party Chairman called on security agencies in Amuwo-Odofin to ensure fair and equitable conditions for all political parties participating in the 2023 general elections.
