Portuguese Coach Peseiro Eyed for Algeria’s National Team Job After Nigeria Stint

Reports suggest that Jose Peseiro, whose contract with Nigeria ended after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is in the running for the Algeria national team coaching role. Peseiro led the Super Eagles to a second-place finish at the AFCON 2023 finals. Alongside him, former South Africa and Egypt coach, Carlos Querioz, is also being considered for the position. The Algeria Football Federation is actively seeking a new coach following the Desert Foxes’ disappointing performance at the tournament, where the two-time African champions were eliminated in the group stage. Peseiro has also been previously linked to a coaching role at the top Egyptian club, Zamalek.
