The Edo in Diaspora Group vows to resist the imposition of any governorship candidate for the upcoming election. The group’s convener, Osaretin Omoruyi, emphasized the need for a democratic process, urging political heavyweights to refrain from imposing candidates.
Omoruyi, also known as Okpa Mayakhin (We are all one), appealed to the party’s national leadership to intervene and dissuade any politician from pursuing such plans. He highlighted the detrimental impact of past mistakes on the state’s development and cautioned against a repeat scenario.
The group strongly criticized the purported plan to present a candidate from the Southern senatorial district, advocating for equity across all districts. This resistance comes amidst growing tensions within the APC ahead of the crucial governorship primary in Edo.
