Police Distribute N69m to Families of Deceased Officers and Injured Personnel in Ebonyi

The Ebonyi State Police Command has taken a significant step towards supporting the families of deceased police officers and injured personnel in the state. Commissioner of Police Augustina Ogbodo, acting on behalf of Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, presented cheques totaling over N69 million to 41 beneficiaries.

During the presentation ceremony in Abakaliki, Ogbodo, represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Mohammed Mohammed, emphasized the importance of the disbursement. He stated, “These cheques, worth N69,246,803.75k, have been provided to 41 beneficiaries who are next-of-kin to deceased police officers and police officers serving in Ebonyi who were injured in the line of duty. The payment is a claim settlement from Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and the IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme.”

Ogbodo extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased officers and encouraged the injured personnel to remain dedicated in their duties. She highlighted the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to the welfare of the police force and advised the recipients to utilize the funds judiciously, particularly for the education of their children.

Augustine Etim, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and assured that the money would be utilized for the betterment of their respective families.
