Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has caught the attention of Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, who believes the striker possesses the talent to thrive in any of Europe’s top football clubs.

Despite recently extending his contract with Serie A champions Napoli, the 25-year-old Nigerian is anticipated to make a move this summer. Speculations link him to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is reportedly heading to Real Madrid. Notably, Osimhen has also been associated with English giants Chelsea and Arsenal.

Peseiro expressed firm confidence in Osimhen’s abilities, stating, “I think he can play for any team in the world. He is an animal when it comes to pressing, very good with his head, in the area, and with his eye, which he also associates.”

Emphasizing Osimhen’s potential, Peseiro presented compelling comparisons, mentioning that although Osimhen may not associate like certain players, citing examples of Barça and City, the latter pursued associative football and secured Erling Haaland, resulting in success for the team.

Osimhen’s impact has been undeniable. His pivotal role contributed to Napoli’s Scudetto victory last season, ending a drought of over three decades. With 26 goals in 32 league appearances, Osimhen played a crucial part in their triumphant campaign. In the current season, he has already scored seven goals in 13 league outings for the Partenopei.

The remarks from Peseiro indicate Osimhen’s rising profile in European football, offering an exciting potential transfer saga in the upcoming transfer window.
