Abia State Governor Alex Otti has vehemently denied recent media reports alleging that he filed a lawsuit against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, Governor Otti labeled the reports as fake news and urged the public to disregard them.
The statement, which was shared with Vanguard, addressed the false claims circulating on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). According to the fabricated reports, Governor Otti supposedly took legal action against the Nigerian Government and President Tinubu for allegedly rejecting his request to establish a seaport and international airport in Abia State.
Furthermore, the misleading reports suggested that Governor Otti had imposed a ban on businesses run by Nigerians from northern regions residing in Abia until the proposed seaport and airport projects were approved. Governor Otti clarified that these claims were entirely baseless and unfounded. He emphasized that the state government is still in the planning stages for the seaport project, while expressing gratitude for the inclusion of an airstrip in Abia in the current budget by the Federal Government.
Governor Otti’s statement concluded by urging the public to dismiss the fake news as nothing more than a fabricated tale created by troublemakers. He advised individuals to treat the misinformation as trash and discard it accordingly, attributing its origins to idle individuals seeking to stir up unnecessary controversy.
In light of these developments, it is essential for readers to exercise caution when consuming information from unreliable sources and to verify the accuracy of news reports before accepting them as fact.
