Manchester United and Chelsea are undeterred by Napoli’s £107 million asking price for star striker Victor Osimhen, according to Sports Extra. Both Premier League giants remain interested despite the Serie A club’s high demands for the Nigeria international, who joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 from Lille.
Italian publication Napoli Magazine reports that Manchester United and Graham Potter’s Chelsea are already scouting Osimhen, while Napoli are preparing potential replacements should the striker depart. The Italian website notes, “Manchester United and Chelsea are not afraid of the amount that Aurelio De Laurentiis will ask for Osimhen, that is €120 million (£107 million). If the Nigerian striker goes to the Premier League, Giuntoli and his staff are already working on a couple of profiles.”
Osimhen, now 24, has improved season after season in Italy and is currently in outstanding form. In 20 appearances across all competitions this campaign, he has scored 15 goals and provided four assists. Napoli are riding high, sitting atop the Serie A table and on course to win their first Scudetto in 33 years, while also performing strongly in the Champions League, where they will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the round of 16.
