Wilfred Ndidi will miss Leicester City’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Saturday, Sports Extra reports. The club’s injury list remains extensive, with James Justin, Jonny Evans, Ryan Bertrand, Boubakary Soumaré and Ricardo Pereira all unavailable, while Jamie Vardy faces a slim chance of returning from a glute problem.
Ndidi, who has been sidelined since sustaining a muscle injury in training, was ruled out of the match for personal reasons. However, manager Brendan Rodgers indicated that his return to the squad is imminent. “He (Ndidi) has been training well,” Rodgers said on the club’s official website. “He’s had a personal issue this week that won’t see him involved at the weekend but hopefully, going forward he won’t be too far away.” Ndidi has made 16 appearances across all competitions for Leicester this season.
Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho is poised to feature at Villa Park. He rescued Leicester against lower‑tier side Walsall, helping Rodgers’s men edge into the FA Cup’s fifth round with a one‑goal win. Although Rodgers has been reluctant to start Iheanacho this season, the FA Cup hero is likely to be considered for the number‑nine role over Patson Daka in the upcoming fixture.
