The Scripture Union Nigeria has issued a strong call to action, urging the Federal Government, lawmakers, and Christian bodies to resist the push for legalizing lesbianism and bi-sexualism. The union’s National Chairman, Wilfred Onu, emphasized the dangers posed by such legislation during a press conference at the union’s headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Onu expressed deep concern over the growing acceptance of these practices, which go against the teachings of the Holy Bible and existing laws such as the Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act, 2014. He highlighted the alarming promotion of these ideologies by religious and political leaders in the Western world, stressing the need to protect societal values and morality.
As a union grounded in Biblical principles, Scripture Union Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to upholding traditional Christian values and principles. They condemned the LGBTQ+ ideology as immoral and contrary to God’s teachings, urging the Christian community to reject it and advocate for love and redemption for all.
The union called on Christians and supporters of humanity to defend the sanctity of family life and society, rejecting the harmful agenda of those promoting LGBTQ+ ideologies. They also pledged to safeguard children, youths, and families from influences that stray from Biblical teachings, advocating for the preservation of traditional family values and marriage as outlined in Scripture.
In a world where societal norms are constantly evolving, Scripture Union Nigeria remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the timeless values and principles of the Christian faith, standing against ideologies that threaten the fabric of society.
