The emotional reunion between parents and children at a government facility in Kaduna State was a moment of joy and gratitude. The 137 children, rescued from bandits by the Nigerian military, were finally able to see their families after undergoing psychotherapy since their rescue.
The event, attended by top government officials including the Secretary to the State Government, Abdulkadir Meyere, was a touching display of love and relief. The parents, who had not seen their children since their abduction on 7 March, were overwhelmed with emotions as they embraced their loved ones.
Despite Governor Uba Sani’s absence due to an important assignment in Abuja, the parents were assured that the children would be handed over to them the following day. The father of one of the children, Idris Abdullahi, expressed his gratitude and prayers for the governor’s success and protection.
The rescued students, like Suleiman Lawal and Aisha Mohammed, expressed their appreciation for the government’s care and support. They were treated for any injuries and were grateful for the opportunity to reunite with their families.
The resilience and strength shown by these children in the face of adversity is a testament to their courage and the support they received. As they prepare to return to their community in Kuriga, they carry with them the love and prayers of their families and the gratitude of a nation.
