Osun State Governor Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke has assured the state’s intending Muslim pilgrims of the government’s commitment to ensuring smooth hajj operations.
During his address at the Osun State hajj camp in Osogbo, Adeleke said the construction of the camp was to alleviate the recurring challenges faced by Osun Muslim pilgrims due to the absence of such a facility.
He reaffirmed to Muslims in the state that the project will be completed without delay.
The Osun State Muslim Community (OSMC) and the League of Imams and Alfas in the state expressed their appreciation to the governor for initiating the hajj camp project.
Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi, President of OSMC, in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Prince Hameed Oyegbade, noted that previous administrations in the state had not been able to actualize the hajj camp since the inception of Osun State and lauded Adeleke for bringing the project to fruition.
He said, “We are truly delighted by this development. We have been advocating for a hajj camp since the state’s establishment, but past governments did not heed our call. Governor Adeleke’s administration has now made it a reality, and we are grateful to him.”
The Muslim community also praised the Chairman of Osun State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Dr Morufu Olawale-Isola, for his dedicated efforts in ensuring that pilgrims from the state perform their hajj rituals smoothly in Saudi Arabia without any obstacles.
