Three killed as gunmen attack Plateau village

Three persons were on Monday confirmed dead after gunmen attacked the Maiyanga community in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State.
It was gathered that two other persons sustained gunshot injuries during the attack which occurred on Sunday night.

A resident of Maiyanga community, Bulus Sule, who confirmed the attack to The in Jos on Monday, said those injured had been evacuated to the hospital where they are currently receiving treatment

Sule said, “It was last night (Sunday) that the gunmen came and attacked the people in Maiyanga community. They shot three persons dead while two persons sustained gunshot injuries. The shooting was just too much. Right now, the community is in pain.”

Another resident of the community, who identified himself as Ilya, condemned the killing of the villagers.

According to him, the attack had been reported to the security agents who, he said, arrived in the community some hours after the gunmen had fled the scene.

He called on the government to beef up security in the community to forestall further attacks on the people.

The spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, did not take his calls when contacted on the attack at the time of filling this report.
