Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are up in arms over the alleged suspension of Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the party. Reports emerged on Monday that Ganduje had been suspended by the APC in his Ward in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano state. However, the state leadership of the party quickly refuted these claims, labeling those responsible as impostors.
The Concerned APC Members (CAM), led by Okpokwu Ogenyi, expressed their outrage at the situation during a press conference in Abuja. Ogenyi called for the immediate arrest of those behind the alleged suspension, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice.
“It is with great dismay that we learned of the suspension of our party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, by individuals posing as members of our party from his Ward in Kano State,” Ogenyi stated. “These impostors even went as far as using the name of our party’s legal adviser in Ganduje’s ward to announce the suspension without proper authorization. Impersonation is a serious offense and must be dealt with accordingly.”
CAM urged the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the State Security Service to take swift action in apprehending and prosecuting the impostors. Ogenyi warned of the dangerous precedent that could be set if such acts of deception were allowed to go unpunished.
“If these impostors are not held accountable, we may soon see members of other political parties attempting similar actions,” Ogenyi cautioned. “We cannot allow such flagrant disregard for the rule of law within our party.”
The call for justice and integrity within the APC highlights the importance of upholding democratic principles and ensuring transparency in political processes. As the party navigates these turbulent waters, the eyes of the nation are watching closely to see how this situation unfolds.
