Germany international Karim Adeyemi set a new Bundesliga speed record on Matchday 19, during Borussia Dortmund’s 5‑1 victory over Freiburg on Saturday. The 21‑year‑old forward was clocked at 22.77 mph (36.65 km/h) in the second half, helping Dortmund cruise to a comfortable win at Signal Iduna Park. Adeyemi’s speed eclipsed the previous record of 22.76 mph (36.63 km/h), set by former Mainz player Jeremiah St Juste in the 2021/22 season during a 2‑1 defeat to Union Berlin, according to Sport Bible.
The match also marked another milestone for Adeyemi, who scored his first ever home Bundesliga goal. His strike contributed to Dortmund’s top‑four finish, leaving them three points behind league leaders Bayern Munich and extending their winning streak since the winter break.
The win will be remembered for Sebastien Haller’s first competitive goal since recovering from testicular cancer, heading home from a Raphael Guerreiro cross to make it 3‑1.
