Dubai Airport, one of the world’s busiest hubs, is facing disruptions due to severe flooding in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE experienced unprecedented rainfall this week, causing chaos and prompting the airport to limit incoming flights for the next 48 hours.
Passengers are advised not to head to the airport unless their airlines have confirmed their flight’s departure. Air India has already canceled flights to and from Dubai, while Emirates has suspended check-in services for Friday.
The UAE was hit by the heaviest rainfall in 75 years, leading to flooded runways at the airport and significant travel disruptions. Tragically, one person lost their life in Ras Al Khaima after their car was swept away by the floods. In neighboring Oman, the situation is even more dire, with 21 reported deaths due to torrential rains.
The aftermath of the extreme weather has left a trail of destruction in its wake, highlighting the urgent need for disaster preparedness and climate resilience in the region. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
