The stage is set for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Ondo State, with a total of 171,922 accredited members gearing up to cast their votes on Saturday. This crucial event will take place in 203 wards across 18 local government areas, with 16 aspirants vying for the coveted position, including the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The committee tasked with overseeing the primary, led by Governor Usman Adodo of Kogi, has affirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent process. Secretary Ovie Omo-Agege emphasized that all aspirants are still in the running, with no withdrawals or stepping down reported prior to the election.

In a bid to maintain peace and order during the primary, Omo-Agege urged the aspirants to urge their supporters to conduct themselves peacefully. The committee is prepared to implement the direct mode of voting in all 203 wards, adhering strictly to the party’s guidelines and constitution.

Furthermore, the committee has pledged to work closely with security agencies to prevent any disruptions before, during, and after the primary.
