Early Morning Fire at Lagos Airport Disrupts Terminal 1 Operations

A fire incident at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, caused early morning disruption on Thursday, forcing the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to divert all flight operations from Terminal 1 to the D wing.

The fire, which originated from the E54 bridge, reportedly began around 5:29 am and caused initial panic among airport staff and travellers. FAAN swiftly responded, with engineers cutting power to the entire E wing and the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS) team extinguishing the blaze by 6:41 am.
