Xejet Airlines Aircraft Skids Off Lagos Airport Runway

An aircraft operated by premium services provider Xejet Airlines, an Embraer 145 carrying 52 passengers and crew, skidded off the runway at Lagos Airport, plunging into the grass verge. The incident occurred after departing from Abuja Airport.

Sources at the airport confirm that the left Runway 18 has been closed to aircraft traffic. Aerodrome Fire and Safety Rescue Unit personnel from FAAN have mobilized to the scene to assist in passenger rescue efforts.

Xejet Airlines, known for its business class-only service, operates from Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS). The incident, which happened around 11:29 am, prompted immediate response from fire and rescue teams. Runway 18L is currently closed to traffic.
