Labour Party’s Tolulope Phillips Joins PDP in Ogun State

Abeokuta, Ogun State – The Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for the 2023 Abeokuta South Federal Constituency election, Tolulope Phillips, has officially registered as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State. Phillips registered on Tuesday at Ward 7, Ijaye in Abeokuta South Local Government, following his earlier decision to join the major opposition party shortly after the last election.

Speaking with newsmen, Phillips expressed his conviction that the PDP is well-positioned to govern Ogun State and Nigeria by 2027. He emphasized the need to rescue Ogun and Nigeria from “clueless leadership” that, according to him, continues to impoverish Nigerians with “needless and hardship policies.”

Phillips remarked, “We all witnessed what happened in Ogun State during the last governorship election. We knew who truly won the mandate of the people but sadly it has ended the way it did. But I am sure the next election will be different. PDP is well positioned and the party is going to win by God’s grace.”

He urged Nigerian youths to enhance their political participation, stressing that “we cannot continue to abandon the political space to the charlatans.”
