Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, says the team would need to beat Mali if they are to stand a chance of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana find themselves fifth on the table in Group I following the Central African Republic’s win over Chad earlier on Wednesday.

The Black Stars will play against the Eagles in Bamako on Thursday night on matchday three of the qualifying series knowing a win could take them to at least second in the group ahead of facing CAR next Monday.

Ahead of the game, Addo has called on his side to take home the maximum points.

“It’s a very important match for us. We are one point behind Mali and we have to win to give us a chance of qualifying to the World Cup,” he said.

“Mali are a very strong team. They have young talent in their team and it will be a tough game for us tomorrow.”

The match is scheduled to kickoff at 19:00 GMT.
