Nigerian comedian and actor Isaac Olayiwola, widely known as Layi Wasabi, recently shared his unconventional views on romantic relationships during an appearance on the ‘Is This Seat Taken?’ podcast hosted by actress Chinasa Anukam. The 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards Best Online Content Creator winner elaborated on why he prefers the notion of “partnership” over having a “girlfriend.”

“I don’t believe in the concept of a girlfriend. I believe in partnership,” Wasabi stated. “I don’t believe in that phase of girlfriends. I start with courtship. I have to see the wife in the person from the beginning.”

The host, Chinasa Anukam, noted that this perspective shows a significant level of focus, to which she added, “That’s fine.”

Further, Wasabi revealed his limited experience with dating, sharing that he has only been on dates four times. When describing his ideal partner, he mentioned a preference for tall women, emphasizing that height is the first thing he notices in women.

Wasabi’s insights offer a glimpse into his serious approach to relationships, highlighting his desire to find a life partner from the outset rather than engaging in casual dating phases.
