With the Summer Olympics fast approaching, Paris witnessed a stunning rehearsal on the River Seine, setting the stage for what promises to be a breathtaking opening ceremony. In a display of grandeur, 205 delegations will grace the river on over 80 boats, parading from Pont d’Austerlitz to Pont d’Iéna. The four-hour ceremony will be illuminated by the natural backdrop of sunset and moonlight.
Despite security concerns and President Macron’s cautious stance, preparations for the open-air event continue unabated, with no alternative plans in motion. Thierry Reboul, Executive Director for Ceremonies, reaffirmed commitment to Plan A amidst rigorous training and security measures honed since 2015.
As Paris prepares for this historic event, residents can expect bridge closures and one final rehearsal before the grand opening on July 26th.
